Owl House

The old stone barn has stood  in this lovely spot since at least 1820, and was in use around the farm only a few years ago. Its new purpose as a holiday destination seems to suit it perfectly. Thoroughly and sympathetically restored, it retains it's historic oak frame.

TOWN and COUNTRYSIDE

Tan Y Foel (Tan-err-voil) means "Beneath the Bald Hill", which describes it perfectly. On a clear day, the view from the top of the Foel is from Snowdonia to the Shropshire hills. But in the shelter of the hill, where sheep and cattle graze the farmland, Tan Y Foel is typical of the green and gentle landscape of Montgomeryshire.

Two miles away is the small Georgian market town of Llanfyllin with shops, pubs and restaurants. Historic Oswestry and Welshpool are each ten miles away.

CHILL or THRILL

Ancient woodland to walk in; a stream to stroll by,
Spa days to be booked nearby.
A sound nights sleep, your beauty you keep
Do I have to go home at the end of the week?
You sigh.

Berwin mountains to hike,
Try them on a bike,
Go to the extreme,
and live that inner dream.
The challenge awaits........it's in your sight.

Then there are steam trains, gardens and castles, galore.
plus an infinite number of Welsh beers and foods to explore.
